I want Ke Huy Quan to win. He was the standout for me and the heart of the movie (which I otherwise don’t think was that great)

I just have no desire to watch Tar or the Fabelmans

Kerry seems like such a random choice, I loved her in the movie but she's barely been in the converstiaon.

Sharing again the compilation of anonymous ballots someone on goldderby made. The last two years the anonymous ballots were very, very wrong about Best Actress (Mulligan & Cruz) but did get the Anthony Hopkins upset correct.

Personally, I’m sure Ke Huy Quan is winning and leaning towards Austin Butler and Michelle Yeoh, but I’m at a complete loss for Best Supporting Actress.

It is legit amusing that Turning Red is just a non-entity. I don't remember Disney promoting FYC campaigns or anything,all the email banners I've gotten in deadline emails have been Pinocchio or PIB

I don’t like that Turning Red isn’t in the convo because it’s actually really good and made by and about girls/women. Watching the ‘Making Of’ footage made me love it so much more.

I feel like I'm tripping with all the praise for Stephanie Hsu, I thought her acting was very OTT and not at all natural tbh. I know the movie itself is very OTT but her performance totally lacked nuance for me. I do think she's talented tho so I don't really mind her nom (and I'd sure hope for her to win over JLC but I'm rooting for Kerry).

I wasn't as moved as everyone else by her performance either (maybe I need to watch again) but compared to JLC she did actually do stuff and was important to the story. So she should've been the only female supporting nominee for that film cause JLC didn't anything Oscar-worthy in that film.

Neither has Top Gun...apparently they think that the Oscar pool and all of the PGA/DGA/SAG have zero voter overlap, lmao.

And I found it funny that they are so biased towards Tar but then think Cate shouldn't win actress...like what did you like about the movie so much then??

yeah i liked tar but like its best feature is that you get to watch cate blanchett be unhinged for like 3 hours. it would be unwatchable for me with anyone even a little less good (but michelle should still win tho)
