"Could Win: “Top Gun: Maverick” 🤨 Why do people still think this?? Titanic is probably the only HUGE box office winner to win BP but I will admit the plot was stronger than Top Gun.

Best Director is the Daniels, but maybe Todd Field is a dark horse.

Titanic was a different time and a different type of award-winning blockbuster…like Braveheart, Forrest Gump etc. Top Gun was fun, but just an action film

Yeah I agree, I forgot about the others ones. But again they better written plots too which as much I enjoyed Top Gun...the plot was very simple and relies a lot on the previous film.

the fugitive was nominated for best picture and it’s also basically an action movie! didn’t win tho

The real life case still makes me mad bc a reporter narced that the judge said the guy was "guilty as hell," and he was exonerated. Then, he killed a lot of people via medical negligence and being drunk on the job. So he shoukd have rot in prison. And his literal wrestling name was "the killer," I mean....

LOL I am weird but Top Gun is like my #3 of the best picture nominees. It had no plot and was mostly planes but I was hooked to my seat.

These people are clueless. Top Gun has won no precursors that would indicate it has any chance...the people voting at the Oscars vote in the precursors too.
