Chlöe's new single “How Does It Feel”, a collab with Chris Brown, debuted at #10 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100. Meaning, it didn't even chart on the Hot 100.

It also debuted at  #7 on Billboard R&B Digital Song Sales and  #17 on Hot R&B Songs.

When you do clownery... 🤷

Chloe's done everything in her power to put me off her (solo) music most likely forever. And supposedly Normani is set to drop an album in May or something like that. lol sure Even if, watch me not even download it lol Play stupid games, win stupid prizes 💁

The shortest summary I can manage: internalized misogynoir and record labels pushing collabs.

Black women who support him are likely refracting internalized misogynoir, which makes them identify with Black men and dismiss the trauma of Black women.

That, and the fact is there's an awful lot of women out here that quite frankly do not like other women and view them as competition.

It's such a tricky topic to navigate because in the very shallow, small pool of female Black artists who were allowed to "break out", they very much are each other's competitors. It's giving me Tyra Banks vs Naomi Campbell vibes where even if they didn't see each other as competition, the media manipulated and scrutinized everything to ensure that they did. It's naive optimism to assume that everyone can have a seat at the table when there's someone on top deciding how big that table is.

Out of curiosity, are all these women's labels run/owned by Black men?

Chlöe is under Parkwood Entertainment, Beyoncé's label.

Normani is under RCA's Keep Cool label. She was signed by the co-founder of Keep Cool, Tunji Balogun (a nigerian american man), but he left to be the CEO of Def Jam Recordings. I belive some of the other black co-founders are still in charge. RCA's CEO is a white man, Peter Edge.

Sadly, the GP still loves Chris Brown. He only gets shit on the internet but his streaming numbers are massive. I can’t believe he’s the 25th most listened artist on Spotify.
