Re: the west coast I meeeean, it's snowing over there right now if that makes you feel better LOL. What part are you from? My employer has infertility coverage but I just got on staff recently so a lot of good that does me, sigh. All I have left is one embryos transfer and by the time I pay the premiums and hit the deductible it's not even worth it.
Honestly? I really wanted a girl too. I would've been disappointed initially if both our healthy embryos were boys. I feel bad saying that and I know if I had boys I wouldn't have been able to imagine it any other way and would absolutely love them the same. My daughter is my clone though which is a little weird lol but I don't hate that we look alike. xD Gender disappointment is real and it's OKAY! I know it passes. Sometimes we just imagine things a certain way and then they happen differently and we understand why later.
I had a subchorionic hemorrhage with my daughter and it was scary as fuck, so I feel you re: the bleeding. I was so ready for it to be another miscarriage but that doctor visit ended up being the first time in the four years we'd been trying that we heard a heartbeat. It was incredible.
