I’m gonna use this post to talk about a better human being than Paris Hilton: my brother. He loved the symbol of the Phoenix because it meant a lot to him in his recovery. I have a tattoo of the engraving on his grave stone on my arm that shows a silhouette of a Phoenix. His beloved rescued brown Doberman’s name was Phoenix. My birthday is tomorrow and I’m really fucking sad that he’s not here. His 1980’s ass is why my name is Kim. He named me. This feels a little like a “hello.” Why on a Paris Hilton post? I don’t know, I can only assume to tease me, lmao.

Anyway, I think we’d both agree that as a first name for a white child, it’s extremely weird. Also, bad.

I’m sorry for your loss and I’m glad his memory seems like a blessing to you, even though the loss is enormous. Thank you for sharing your brother with us.

You’re so welcome. I’ll listen to anyone’s stories about their passed loved ones. It’s how they stay alive. That and we are all bursting to be able to share, you know? It’s so unfair that people die and we don’t get to share who they were because people don’t know to ask.
What was his favorite movie?

I agree so much with everything you said! I’m always so happy to talk about my brother but it tends to make some people uncomfortable because they’re afraid I’m sad, and like…of course I’m sad, but it’s okay. It’s okay to be sad when someone dies and it’s okay to talk about them, too! Thinking and talking about *him* makes me happy! Honestly, I’m not sure what his favorite movie of all time was but I know he secretly loved “Serendipity” and actually sneaked off with my dvd of it once! We also both knew probably every word to “Tommy Boy.” 🤣 Is there a loved one you’ve lost that you’d like to tell me their favorite movie? I’d love to hear it ❤️

I will watch Serendipity with your brother in mind.
I’m not sure of his favorite movie but I recently lost my nephew that was in my house so often as a child he felt like a little brother or something to me. He was one of those “in and out of trouble” people that I was hoping would get out and stay out of trouble. He loved Johnny cash and Bob Marley. He was quick witted and so protective of his loved ones. He also had a quick temper which didn’t serve him well. He lost my dad, his favorite person when he was a child and I don’t think he ever recovered or had help to recover. It is a comfort that they are reunited and unencumbered with the pain of life they were given.
He would love for you to pick a song, any song, and listen to it as loudly as you can.
Thank you for letting me share my nephew with you.

I’m so sorry for the loss of your nephew. He had fantastic music taste! Soulful ❤️ I’m glad that knowing he and his favorite person are reunited gives you comfort ❤️ thank you for even thinking of watching the movie, even if you don’t get around to it. That is so kind I can’t even breathe. I will absolutely honor your nephew by listening to a song as loud as I can. And I’ll sing along with it. It will be “Redemption Song” 🥹
