Genuine question: as someone who had a very brief party-lite phase, what does one do for that many hours into the morning (besides drugs) at a party?

Is it mostly sitting around smoking and talking after the dancing is over? hooking up?

You dance, drink, go to afterparties/hook up, talk aaaaa lot, and/or eat at shady places that are open at 4am. That’s how my friends and I spent our partying days anyway. Good times, but you couldn’t pay me to do it now.

No… well, I didn’t. Idk how much money other people spend, but I’d spend $30 tops. The club entry fee (usually around $10-15) was either waived for girls or we had ways to get in free. So, basically just paid for my afterpartying meal, lol.

We’d just to go on nights where girls got in free…some clubs had closer parking for women (we’d drop any guys off before parking); if it was winter we’d leave our coats in the car to avoid having to pay for coat check and then we’d also stash drinks in the trunk of the car so we wouldn’t have to buy any from the bar and just nip out now and then. We seriously had no money in our late teens/early 20s lol

I partied like 3-4 nights a week (I’m exhausted now just thinking that), so we couldn’t pick the free nights. So, it paid off to have either friends who knew the owners and/or just creepy bouncers who’d let girls in for free.

Don’t remind me of the cold nights. 😭 I can’t believe we were stupid enough to freeze our asses off wearing barely any clothes and heels that wouldn’t let us walk fast… just to look cute for stupid guys and photos. Lmao

During my party days you would be at the bar/club until they turned the lights on, then everyone goes to jack in the box or Denny’s or the one pizza place that might be open

Then there’s an after party and people wander home around 4 or 5am

I once had a house party that didn’t let up until 5am, it was super fun

Ok we did the 24 hr diner after the bar a few times but I can count them on one hand lol.

I don't think I ever made it to an after party but I also didnt do any ~energizing drugs.

When I was in my 20s, we were at bars until last call which was right before 4a lol then we’d go to Kellogg’s which is a 24hr diner with a bouncer on weekends lol and we’d all get home around 6 or 7

back in my day when the clubs closed at 5 you either went to get mcdonalds and/or a kebab or you went to a lousy afterparty and had deep conversations with people you barely knew. it was fun, people tend to confess their deepest fears and desires when drunk at 6 am.

Clubs in Spain close at 7 am, after parties start at 8-ish (the "official" ones, there are some open space places that are just... There). I like to dance and have a lot of energy, especially when drinking (don't really do party drugs), so the times I've gone to an after, I can easily stay there up to 1 pm. It's what someone said above: people hook up, take/look for drugs, dance.

Sometimes, you leave the club and go to someone's house and continue talking/play board/eat something.

I’ve never done, like coke or stuff like that, and never hooked up with random dudes, but I LOVE to dance and so if there’s a great DJ, and the Red Bull Vodkas or Jager Bombs (or Joose/4Lokos for my mid thirties millennials out there) are flowing. I’m up until McDonalds starts breakfast service.
