who should perform at his big day, ontd?noodlecookieFebruary 19 2023, 21:14:22 UTC
Right Said Fred, followed by a fifteen-minute mini play from the cast of Mrs Brown’s Boys, then the national anthem played on repeat for three hours. It’s what they deserve.

Yeah, it’s so bloody stupid - there was a protest in Liverpool a while ago about it. It’s obvious that it’s a push against reduced petrol/diesel usage, but they’re trying to tie it to surveillance (as if the UK isn’t already the country with the most CCTV in the world).

It seems very astroturfed tbh
Oil companies do that shit all the time
I live in a spot where I'm walking distance to groceries, coffee, the gym, restaurants, etc and it's the shit. I hardly get in my car these days except when it's cold as shit or when I have to travel for work. Such a quality of life improvement to walk places vs driving everywhere

Yeah it’s definitely better to live in areas where you can just walk to everything. I unfortunately don’t live in one of those areas and I hate that I’m dependent on taxis and buses for almost everything except for basic groceries.
I’m thinking that it’s potentially linked to the recent announcement that London is expanding their ULEZ zones. I’m seeing a lot of people talking about ‘cordons’ and ‘barriers’ as if they’re going to section out the city using mini versions of the giant clear dome in The Simpsons Movie. It’s just such a stupid angle to take and unfortunately we’re a stupid country so there’ll be a fair few who genuinely worry this is infringing on our freedom.
