Or the fact that pretty much most things made for adults or even teens, usually has to have sex scenes or nudity. It’s almost always filmed in a male gaze as well.
Sex is a part of life but I feel like the entertainment industry makes it SO important that it’s all a lot of people can think about now.

I just think it was a nothingburger. Man just said he doesn't want to do sex scenes anymore because they don't work for him and people were big mad. He wasn't even making a general statement about sex scenes in media, just how they feel for him. Like, who cares?

i think an actor saying that intimate scenes feel like infidelity to him but he can still simulate murder is wild af lol

I mean, yes and no. Penn as Joe isn't actually killing someone but Penn as Joe is actually kissing/caressing another person. I know those scenes are highly choreographed but if they no longer make him comfortable then I don't see what the problem is! Also, who knows, he might feel like never taking a role as a murderer after this stint on You especially considering he's been pretty adamant about people not romanticizing Joe.

how many actors have hooked up with co-stars during the filming of a project?
if those are his boundaries, those are his boundaries. if you're an accountant and someone told you to kiss your colleague, i highly doubt your spouse would be ok with it too

and i know we were all freaking out about johnny depp’s treatment of amber when it came to her roles, and this to me is in that same line of control and thinking just on a less extreme scale
he can have all the boundaries he wants, i’m going to find it weird if he equates the choreography of kissing his costar in a room of people to infidelity

if this stems from some experience from when he was a kid then that’s entirely different but that’s not what he said at all on the podcast

What the hell are you talking about? Most things don't have sex scenes or nudity in them. We're in one of the most sexless eras.
