may I ask how do you manage to maintain the gif quality and still be within 40kb limit? I use photoshop and usually have to reduce colors/quality so much that it's not worth it

The limit hasn't been 40kb since like 2020 (whenever I went to one of LJ's posts and asked them to up it) - it's 100kb now!
