What happened to his hype? I remember when he was frontrunner for the Bond movie but now I see him collecting checks from guaranteed flops

I feel like that happens to most people who buy into their own hype off the back of one big project.

i'm not a fan of bridgerton but it definitely did not feel like a wise decision on him & his team's behalf to leave the show the second he got attention. like i get season 2 allegedly wasn't supposed to be about him anyway (or maybe that was just because he left) but he really should've stuck around to double down the hype.

no, season 2 was never gonna be about him, even if he stuck around. covid made things more difficult, because of quarantine going from one project to the other, but i've always thought it was a mistake not to appear for even a brief storyline in season 2. he could have filmed a couple of weeks' worth of scenes, had a scene of the duke holding/interacting with his baby, and it would have been massive for sure, for very little work. i think his team did the cost/benefic analysis wrong

that's a good point about the covid. honestly, i wouldn't blame an actor not coming back to a job for that alone (though, obviously, i don't know if that was the reason for him).

yeah i agree. i don't know much about the show but i feel like coming back even for like 2 minutes of screentime would've been a good idea but too late i guess. especially since now the woman who was his wife in the show is also leaving after this next season.

He got the Noah Centineo treatment.

This is just rude. Noah Centimeter was the worst even when he was loved by all.

He did capitalize his Bridgerton fame to get roles in big movies that would presumably get him money, I can't be mad about it because I don't know if I would choose financial insecurity for art's sake or just say "screw it" and get a role in a "Fast & Furious" to get stability

That said, The Gray Man was terrible. Dungeons & Dragons seems at least a bit fun?

He was never really considered. He just has a team with a big mouth. It was just rumors.
