People are stupid. A friend of mine got in an argument with her boyfriend because he was being a jerk, he responded by putting a pillow over his head in bed and then ignoring her for 2 weeks. They were both in their 40s. She was still considering them together during that time. Some people really never mature beyond age 13 in the romance department. We're not really friends any more.

🥲I feel like you are talking about me and you’re one of my former friends. This is how my 40 year old ex behaved. Down to the shunning via pillow, and dramatically laying right in the edge of the bed as if being any closer to me was revolting…. and then fully stonewalling for two weeks, as punishment for the most minor criticism of his bad behavior. I got out, but your friend sounds possibly financially/co-habitation trapped. Her boyfriend sounds worse than stupid and immature - he’s deliberately alternating being abusive (stonewalls are abuse) and being perfect boyfriend to wrestle control.

I remember being so grateful just getting meme from the friends who basically froze me out to protest the ex.

They broke up a while ago. She owned her own house and they didn't live together. She admitted she was terrified of being alone. It was just too frustrating watching her bounce from loser to loser because she didn't love herself and was deeply codependent.
