Mexican singer, Yuridia, also dubbed as "the voice of an angel", was the first runner up of the 4th season of talent reality show in 2005, La Academia, on TV Azteca, and went on to become one of the most important singers in Mexico and Latin America right now. TV Azteca is also home of arguably the most important and vicious showbiz TV show in Mexican television, Ventaneando, spearheaded by Paty Chapoy.

Recently while on an interview for a YouTuber, Chapoy revealed that Yuridia has never granted an interview to her and her show, "only" because they've called Yuridia fat. This prompted the singer to upload a series of videos on TikTok about how she has been systemically targeted all these years, by Ventaneando, even going as far as since she was still an unknown contestant on La Academia, calling her fat, arrogant, wide-bodied, ungrateful, mentally tortured and weak (Yuridia has been vocal about suffering anxiety), she also accused them of harassing her family and minor brothers, deeming her father an alcoholic, inciting the public to stalk her and to throw stones to her house and cars windows and overall being awful on national television, all this pushed her into attempting suicide, calling it the "darkest time on her life", fortunately she's ok now.

This has sparked a maelstrom of media and Internet coverage, with clips of different years of Ventaneando hosts making fun of her but sugar coating it by saying she's incredibly talented. The show had to acknowledge this but instead double down on the mocking and denied stalking her, defending themselves by saying they were just after the news coverage. This came to a peak when even the Mexican Secretariat for Home Affairs and the National Commission to Prevent and Eradicate Violence Against Women issued a joint statement condemning the mistreatment of Yuridia and women in general on the media, also taking a stand against fat phobia and body shaming and citing the Access for Women to a Life Free of Violence Act and the possible violations to it.

On the upside, many celebrities and Internet content creators, some of them victims of the show themselves, have supported Yuridia publicly, with the Ventaneando hosts limiting the interactions on their different social media profiles, due to the barrage of comments calling them out.
