Sam Smith was photographed by Zhong Lin for the new issue of Perfect Magazine.

They have received both praise and criticism for the shoot, with one person writing “People only ever wanna hear about empowerment and body positivity as long as it fits into their image but as soon as somebody takes these words actually into action… pow! there goes ( Read more... )

i actually quite like this photoshoot. whenever we see plus sized shoots they're usually with rolls smoothed & still adhering to the hourglass beauty standard. the fact that they *emphasized* rolls and curves with the bondage-y string thing is actually really cool to see, IMO.

i don't even like sam smith but this is pretty cool. ONTD stays doing the most tho bc i already see comments about how desperate for attention he must be. like baby who is checking for perfect magazine in 2023?

this is a cool shoot concept and i like the pictures.

I found them irrationally annoying for some reason pre-2023, but the fact that they're pissing so many people off now by actually being themselves has really made me like them lol.

lol same, I had no real opinion of them before, wasn’t listening to their music or anything, and now in the last month or so I’m finding them really endearing!

Same, I'm not a fan of their music (if I never have to hear unholy again it'll be too soon) but this is a great photoshoot. It's a cool juxtaposition of like real body/over the top styling and fetish clothes/sugary sweet pink overload and high/low fashion, and obviously the femme/masc elements.

Aren't all artists just trying to get attention? At worst you can say their style is more interesting than their music, but the same could be said for a lot of pop stars lol.
