Jeremy Renner Suffered Snowplow Accident While Trying to Save Nephew, Says Sheriff's Office Report https://t.co/LqYEmA2ITh - People (@people) January 25, 2023
the more info i hear the more insane it is that he's alive (and has two legs)
i don't really understand how getting in the cab was going to stop the plow from sliding sideways, seems like kind of a lost cause at that point, but i guess in high pressure situations you don't always think through stuff
Yah I get in his situation he could only react. Let’s be honest… he probably has done similar stunts throughout his career. But those are highly supervised and protected. His adrenaline probably kicked in and he went on autopilot. His autopilot is just a lot different from most of ours.
he's uploaded a couple pics with both legs (sadly) attached. how functional they are is a different question but from the sound of things the impact to the legs was not the biggest issue he had whatsoever. so a disappointing ending to the story really
My only completely non-educated thought on it is that the leg in the air doesn't really look like it was hurt, and the leg that's covered is probably a total mess of healing incisions and maybe pins/rods from surgical reconstruction, and a cast at this point would do more harm than good while it's so swollen?
My MIL wiped out on ice and broke her wrist, and the ER doc she saw first just set it and put it in a cast before the swelling went down. Then the swelling went down and the cast was completely ineffective for immobilizing her wrist, so it healed wrong and they had to surgically break and re-set it.
