jeeez. Driving in snow is horrifying. I had to do it when going to vermont for the holidays and it was like...3-4 years since I last drove. I panicked every single time the car slid, and everyone else in the car was exhausted so they couldn't even drive. and then when I got to the destination the car got stuck in the middle of a hill, so every time I tried to move it slid backwards. gadushdfladjfdslkjflkj I hated it.
I once had to drive to work in thick snow and my car got stuck. I arrived at work 2 hours late and couldn’t start straight away, because I was shivering so much and my fingers were numb. I should’ve called in sick.
they never should have asked you to come in the first place or expected to show up after being stuck in freezing weather for 2 hours. sad and mad that this is just normal tho :c
Well I originally called in and said I didn’t think I’d make it. I felt guilty after they said that several others had also called in and I felt like I was letting everyone down. The worst thing is that I had to stand outside in the snow for about 60 minutes, because I had to be picked up after my car got stuck. It was horrible. I wouldn’t do it again, especially since I never call in sick and other people where I work seem to call in sick on a whim.
we were in a blizzard warning right before christmas, winds were like 70km/hr and on the first day, they made people go in (I had already taken vacation days) but then closed down at lunch and the next day, waited until 830 to tell people to not come in... when we all start work at 830 so most people were already there. employers are shit.
I used to live in small town ontario and driving in blowing snow on country roads is not for the faint of heart. I would cry every time I got back to my apartment at night because I had to drive winter roads in pitch darkness and I drove into a ditch twice. The first time I had to be towed out, the second time I was even more cautious driving but I still hydroplaned and spun out into a ditch. I hate winter driving
I slid around a bit once this year and then was nearly hit by a jack knifing semi. I was already paranoid about driving in the snow because I lost two classmates sophomore year on an icy day so now I'm just like "is there a chance I'll skid? Then I'm not driving at all"
The first time I drove in snow it was in Atlanta and I panicked so hard that I started crying. Mind you, it was still so warm that the snow wasn't even sticking to the ground.
Driving in snow is scary. I live in NC, which cannot handle snow to begin with, but I also used to drive a Mustang. I had too many times where the back of my car did not move in the same direction as the front. That car could not handle anything. Once I had a job with PTO I refused to come in with any amount of snow.
I moved to NC from NY last year and going through the winter where everything just shuts down when it snows and no one does anything about the roads is INSANE!
I grew up in New England and I vividly remember one time in high school when it started snowing in the afternoon and the school wouldn't let us leave early so by the time we left the roads were covered in snow and really slippery. Turning was a nightmare and when I finally made it home I left my car in the middle of the driveway because I couldn't even control it enough to get into my normal parking spot. I think I'd have a breakdown if I had to drive in that kind of weather again.
