If a news station in Yuma, of all places, put on something that
#Scientology didn't like, would the church throw a conniption fit like it does for stuff in the LA Times? Apparently so.

January 25, 2023 Arizona news anchor Dodge Landesman wrote a story about Lisa Marie Presley's attempt to take down Scientology over the last decade after her sudden death on January 12th. He noted she was on the prosecution witness list for the Danny Masterson rape trial (Lisa had been instructed by Scientology to convince Jane Doe #1 not to go to police after her alleged attack by Masterson in 2003). While she didn't testify, it was up in the air if she would testify for the prosecution in the retrial, which was scheduled two days before her death.
The January 16th article "Lisa Marie Presley was planning Scientology takedown before her death" was taken down after Scientology spokesperson Karin Pouw contacted the station, and Landesman was fired.
After a
thwarted showdown with cult leader David Miscavige in 2014, Lisa Marie seemed to be working towards taking down the cult until her son's death in 2020. The church of Scientology said after Lisa Marie’s death: "The Church’s relationship with Lisa Marie was one of warmth and care. We are saddened by Lisa Marie’s passing. Our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time."
