Sad news to report to some of you: The flop I-dont-get-the-appeal and I-dont-know-anyone-who-saw-this film Avatar: The Way of Water has officially crossed the $2 billion mark.
Its the third James Cameron film to pass this box office milestone and the 6th ever to do so (not adjusted for inflation). Domestically, it came on top for the 6th weekend in a row, grossing $19.7 million. The film is $2.1 million away from passing the $600 million mark domestically, and may do so when final numbers drop tomorrow.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish continues its strong run, coming in 2nd with $11.5 million. Its domestic total stands at $126.4 million.
M3GAN dropped to 3rd, with $9.8 million. With a domestic gross of $73.3 million, the films worldwide total has now passed $100 million.
Missing debuted in 4th with $9.3 million. The film received a B Cinemascore, an 81% positive from PostTrak and a 67 from Metacritic. The film cost $7 million before advertising, so expect this to turn a profit.
A Man Called Otto rounded on the Top 5 with $9 million.
