I think Joshua has become the Jonny Lee Miller of Austen adaptations when it comes to women directors. Either he's intent on working with women or a good word of mouth is happening between these women directors.

Probably both, tbh

I truly hope so. He seems like a good egg and I'm still rooting for my teenage faves. LOL Only Leo turned out to be shit. I think the rest is okay. But I don't follow most of them. Like, is Don Cheadle still okay? What about Josh Hartnett? Elijah seems like a good egg and also a huge fanboy of one of my favorite Turkish musical artists.

Supposedly Elijah Wood has a big NFT collection. Other than that, he's OK. I guess.

I'm super not interested in any crazy women stories in this climate... and I really, really don't trust HWood anywhere NEAR the words "cluster b personality disorders" which are already horribly fucking stigmatized to the point many therapists and psychiatrists won't even attempt treatment, believing in fact the myth that they're untreatable.

Throw this in the fucking trash.

I remember when this was announced that they implied they were not going to follow the direction of the film (aka. bunny boiler) but based more on the original idea/script that Michael Douglas' character was a cheating arsehole who led Glenn Close on and then gaslit her. Less about the 'crazy woman' angle that the studio had the film written into, so making it more appropriate for todays times. Though things may have changed since then, the cast to me is encouraging to me that it's not going to be as two tone as the film.

I read that they will portray Alex in a more sympathetic light by showing the complexities of her mental health disorder, instead of depicting her as a total psychopath the way the film did. They will also explore her childhood abuse, something the film only hinted at. Glenn Close fought tooth and nail against the reshot ending. In the original ending, Alex commits suicide which was a more apt conclusion so hopefully the show will redeem Glenn's efforts because she remained very protective of the character to this day.

Yo each time I call a psychiatrist these past 3 years to make an appt, they now ask "have you ever been suicidal?" And I'm like.... is having mental health issues precluding me from actual mental health treatment?! (you pieces of shit).....and yes, yes it is keeping people out. I hate them. If you can't take the heat, don't go into psychiatry.

I swear you can tell a future flop from that brown filter on these shows alone

Apparently the scripts are very good but the production was drama for the behind the scenes people lol. I follow someone who worked on the show and it was very "we survived!" So I'm curious to watch this.
