Paris McDonald's; Emily in Paris vs. Reality

I'm an American who ate at a French McDonald's for the first time, and it wasn't as glamorous as 'Emily in Paris' suggests https://t.co/C5gWfDcVTR

If I look at pictures I'm surprised with how much more 'modern' and colourful McD looks outside of the USA, but I guess it makes sense; that country doesn't go with the times in many ways.

For one thing McDonalds in Europe threw out the tacky red color many years ago. The subtle green already makes it look more „classy“

What does McDonalds in America look like?

This is what they look like in London for the most part...

Depends on the location (just like everywhere I guess) but last time I went, they still had the red color and overblown yellow Mc Donalds sign everywhere. I think it is more subtle in Europe. (At least from my experience).

Here in Germany they replaced most of the in person order with those machines (sidenote: which never work at Berlin Main Central station!) and you just wait to pick up your food or they bring it to your table so there is mostly just 1 cashier left. All the Menus have also been replaced by big tvs that actually show the menu with suble moving parts (don't know how to explain it lol)

oh god I hate those machines. some McDonalds in London don't even have a cashier and the food is delivered by a conveyor belt. I think uk and Europe McDonalds are pretty much the same tbh.

The ones in Frankfurt main station never bloody work either. I didn't come here to talk to a person, goddamnit, give me my soulless machine ordering!

Maybe the rest of the thread hasn't visited the US in about 10 years, but most new ones do look like this.

I was going to say, I live in a smallish US town and ours looks like this and has the self order boards and tv menus and everything.

This could be a McD in London or Dublin. They all look like this! I went to one in France in 2005...the food all tasted the same as USA (mostly)
