when you freeze eggs they need to be fertilized. on the podcast she was talking about how her boyfriend as basically a husband and the person she was going to spend the rest of her life with. so i'm guessing they agreed to plan ahead and go through that process so they could have kids a little later.

You can freeze unfertilized eggs or embryos. Embryos have a better chance of surviving the thaw, and there’s significant drop off from eggs retrieved to viable embryos once fertilized, but many, many people freeze unfertilized eggs.
