Fans express concern for Jessica Simpson in Instagram post

Jessica Simpson posted a cheery selfie wearing her 8th grade cheerleading letterman jacket. But the top comments on her post show fans concerned for the entrepreneur's changing appearance. They wrote,

• "Something is wrong with her health"
• "There is something not right..."
• "I don't know...it's the dilated pupils for me"
• "What’s happened in the past several months??? Something is not right here."
• "Something is wrong... we all see it. Prayers for you"
• "Some of the comments are out of concern. Don’t know what she’s doing but there’s obviously a problem…".

One fan likened Simpson to the late Karen Carpenter, who battled anorexia. There were also several comments that fitting into one's 8th-grade clothing "isn't something to be bragging about".

But some came to her defense and urged others to recognize, "This woman’s body has been scrutinized mercilessly since the 90s. Do you remember the mom jeans/leopard belt photo? What she has done to her body is a natural culmination of decades of fatphobic bullshit." Another suggested, "Just a gentle reminder to the people commenting on her weight. She could be dealing with something health wise... show some love."
