- he was plowing the road about a quarter mile from his Tahoe home so his family could get out after a massive New Year's eve storm
- the plowing machine, named Snowcat, accidentally ran over one of Renner's legs
- apparently one of his neighbours, a doctor, had to put a tourniquet on his leg until paramedics arrived cause he was losing so much blood
- the machine has extensive safety features, so it should not have rolled over Renner
- a source says his injuries are "extensive" - along with his leg, other parts of his body have been injured.
