fajsljdsk evil wins OMG!!

I was gonna say this is what happens when you give a nepo actor a role they don't have the chops for buuuut even without Beanie...would've they gone looking for Lea Michele either way?

Did they ever actually audition people or did they just decided to revive with Beanie already in mind?

I think they brought it back for Beanie.

Beanie had a lot to do with getting the show off the ground tbh but i doubt Lea auditioned once it was clear Beanie was leaving. I'm sure there were discussions etc but it was p much always going to be Lea once Beanie was out

Lea and Beanie have the same agent which is hilarious

Unless this production of Funny Girl was a smash hit, I think Lea was always going to be considered as a replacement. Beanie’s casting just made it easier to set up Lea’s redemption arc.

They wanted to bring it back years ago but with Lauren Ambrose, and specifically not Lea Michele because the producer had worked with her on Spring Awakening and hated her. But I guess that never got off the ground.

Source: I sat next to that producer (no idea who he was) on a train once, he noticed my magen David necklace, and we bonded as Jews. True story.

Anyways, this doesn't surprise me. She's a terrible person but she's very talented. Ugh.

Yeah I remember hearing about a Lauren Ambrose version but in general getting the revival off the ground ever since Barbra had been in issues for so long.

Hahaha we didn't have anyone in common but we definitely tried to figure out if we did! He was a nice older man, not creepy, and totally willing to spill the beans. He said his wife took Lea to lunch one day to straighten her out, but it didn't work. He also said Jonathan Groff is lovely.

I had no idea that Lauren Ambrose had Broadway credits! I really only knew her from her role as Claire in Six Feet Under.
