Broadway’s revival of ‘FUNNY GIRL’ starring Lea Michele breaks the all-time box office record at the August Wilson Theatre.

The revival collected $2.005 million over eight performances during the week ending on Dec. 18.

I have such a soft spot for him, too. I loved how they filmed at the Paris Opera too. That's what PotO needed film-wise. I would have preferred the original story but I loved this version from my childhood.

Seriously if Chuck could sing opera, he'd be my perfect phantom. Put him at the Leroux original version with that delicious voice of his, the humor and I bet he could be creepy as shit, then add in a beautiful singing voice?

Him in an actual Leroux based adaptation would've been amazing.

He would have been PERFECT. Leroux's phantom is a total sarcastic shit especially with the Persian...he gate crashes parties and takes enjoyment at making everyone uncomfortable af. I would have like to see Chuck's dark crazy come out.

The fact there hasn't been a more Leroux based adaptation is shocking to me, especially since everything is always being remade. That the Chaney version from 1925 is the closest we have (disregarding the ending) is mindblowing.
