my parents are anglican and i grew up in the that denomination (thanks colonization? lol). i consider myself agnostic now, but with xmas around the corner i'm kind of looking forward to going to an evening/midnight service just for the vibes and christmas carols.

I know this because in middle school a “friend” in middle school took me a youth group that was “non denominational” and it was alarming how it felt like conversation to their ideologies than anything.

my friend in hs took me to her church a couple sundays, and i mostly only went because i had a crush on a guy who went there who didn't go to our school, so that was the only way i could see him. the first time i went, my friend's parents teased me because i, being baptised catholic but only really ever going on christmas and easter, was like "oh, sorry, i can't take communion, i haven't been confirmed" and they were like "LOL U LIL DUMMY THAT DOESN'T MATTER HERE YOU TAKING COMMUNION IS ~BETWEEN YOU AND GOD~" SO GO AHEAD and it felt so strange doing it.
