I heard that some authors of not kids books are now using AI to edit their books for them or even write them. Tbh i want to see what it would do with one of my first drafts, if it would do such a better job that I'd forever be disheartened from writing ever again.

I've seen AI poems and some stuff and it's not good.

At best you get something super generic like a poem a ten year old would write about flowers. The longer it is the messier and less coherent it is and not even in a fun way.

I tried a couple of those out of curiosity (there are some that have free trials up to a certain number of words) and found them to be Not Good. Not the worst, but also not super helpful.

The majority of kids' books (written by actual humans) are TERRIBLE. Adding AI can only make it so, so much worse.

I've tried some of those out of curiosity and the results are hilarious in the worst possible ways

I'm an author and I've been playing with the Chat GP lately and it writes pretty basic stuff tbh. It can come up with okay prompts and be clever at times, but it doesn't go into depth and it's clearly culling from other sources, so none of it is particularly well-written or interesting.
