really weird how sadie sink is getting this big push when it's hong chau who's getting the best notices from the whale (somewhere even better than brendan) while i've seen some pans for sadie

she's a pretty girl with red hair and a big following, I'm not surprised lol Haven't seen The whale yet but i'm gonna be genuinely shocked if her performance is actually awards worthy.

i mean, i get that and she's always hustled a bit but i just don't understand why a24 isn't doing more for hong chau since she actually has a shot at getting a nom. then again, the entire whale marketing is really weird. there's still no proper trailer even though the movie is already out in the us.

I think Sadie is on this list primarily due to the most recent season of Stranger Things, which the Whale being an added plus. Even without the Whale it would’ve been a big year for her.

To be fair, it's about 2022 and Sadie had Stranger Things and (oh so overhyped "short film") All Too Well too. I don't see a problem with her on this list.

Sadie isn't getting best-supporting actress nominations and wins over Hong Chau.
I'm more annoyed that the awards seem to have an "only one Asian" rule when it comes to these nominations.

But yeah for Sadie it's that Stranger Things push isn't it. I'd argue she gets more love than Eleven nowadays.
