I’m a the only one who didn’t actually liked this movie? I’m a Nancy Meyers and I’m a sucker for her cinematic aesthetic but this one just didn’t clicked for me.
I love “It’s complicated” and “Something’s Gotta Give” tho.

Cameron Diaz is insufferable in this movie. Jack Black is the only redeeming character.

I’m constantly surprised at its popularity.

Right?? I tried watching this for the first time a week ago and she had me turning it off. I could not watch her.

I couldn't stand her or Kate...or Jude much. Jack Black was one of the few (along with Eli Wallach) that didn't annoy me

I actually can't deal with the plotline about her not being able to cry, and then when we find out her unspeakable trauma is...her parents got divorced when she was a kid??? Obviously that can have lasting effects on someone (can attest), but narratively it was built up as A HUGE THING and then it was revealed in a CONVERSATION with a MAN WHO WAS RAISING HIS KIDS ALONE after his wife DIED jfccccccccc

I was surprised to find out over the years that it was people's favourite. I get the general appeal because it's just a simple cheesy holiday movie but favourite... but I watch a lot worse so who am i to judge

I just think it's forgettable. Nothing really intersting about it at all.

Yeah it doesn’t work for me either. Neither of the couples have chemistry and Jude Law being the noble widower with perfect kids was a bit too much for me

I finally watched it like two weeks ago after years of friends saying it’s the best, and I truly don’t get it. Cameron’s character is obnoxious, Kate’s was fine, but the only plot I really felt anything towards was how she and Jack Black helped the older Hollywood writer get his flowers.

Why did you find her character obnoxious?

Woman goes on holiday and lets a strange drunk man inside in the middle of the night with no proof of who he says he is, and proceeds to be like "Oh I hate fourplay, teehee"? This lady has let you into her home and you're gonna bang her brother all over HER house? Also that if she had not met him she was planning to fly back the very next day as if she can't just find something fun to do on her own? You're in England, a train ride away from London, be for real.

Also wanna stress that it's whatever that she immediately slept with him, but it was like all the trappings around it that had me like "girl are you serious?"

No. I felt like it dragged on for majority of it. Nothing felt "right".
