she's an octuple threat

November 30, 2022 • Keke Palmer (Nope) hosts SNL for the first time tonight! She's the fifth first time host this season, and is the second former Nickelodeon child star to host the show. In her promo video, Keke proves to new featured player Devon Walker that she's more than just a triple threat.
• SZA is making her second outing as musical guest. She first performed on the show in December 2017, and appeared again in May 2019 to perform a song with the musical guest for that episode, DJ Khaled.
• Earlier this week, SNL announced that their December 10 show is going to be co-hosted by SNL legends Steve Martin and Martin Short with musical guest Brandi Carlile, while the December 17 Christmas episode is set to be hosted by another Nickelodeon alum and current Oscar hopeful, Austin Butler with musical guest Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
• The last episode of SNL was the Dave Chappelle hosted episode on November 12. For obvious reasons, there was no post about it. The monologue lasted 15 minutes and it was odious. Bowen Yang, Cecily Strong, Sarah Sherman and Molly Kearney did not appear in any sketches with Chappelle, and Yang, Sherman and Kearney were notably absent from goodnights.
• Here are three blessedly Chappelle-free tainted moments from that episode that are worth watching:

• Marcello Hernandez gets another Weekend Update spot, this time playing aspiring politician Jose Suarez and becomes the first Latino SNL cast member to ever reference la chancla.

• Sarah Sherman debuts a new segment, called Sarah News, which comes complete with vomit inducing graphics and a Day-Glo nightmare of a set.

• The Please Don't Destroy pre-tapes are back and this time Molly Kearney runs to the boys for help after a series of mishaps leads to Molly being elected Ohio's Attorney General. The sketch also features an appearance from MSNBCs Steve Kornacki.

December 2, 2022 • In recent years the American Museum Of Natural History's annual gala has been chaired by Lorne so the cast and some upcoming hosts and musical guests usually turn out for the event.

December 2, 2022 • Jimmy Fallon hosted the event and at one point James Austin Johnson joined him on stage, presumably to reprise the great
Bob Dylan impression he debuted on Fallon's show earlier this week.
