Yes I know this trailer came out a month ago, but - but! - It's getting a lot of attention (and derisive laughter) from moviegoing audiences because it's showing up in front of trailers for things like Fabelmans (?), Menu, Bones and All, maybe Wakanda Forever ( Read more... )

Who is trying to bring Gerard Butler back? I’d like a word.

He hasn’t gone anywhere? Dude has been churning out profitable movies for years and years. I don’t care about him either way, but “Greenland” was quite good.

I haven’t heard anything about him in forever. I looked at his IMDB and I’ve never heard of most of the stuff he’s been churning out for the last few years. He’s definitely not the name he used to be.

The most I've heard about him is that he's suing the woman that ran over him with her car.

I think Gerard is actually doing quite well for himself taking up the mindless action flick hero place that isn't what it used to be but he is still making bank in movies that appeal to people who want to lose a few brain cells with their popcorn.

coming for liam neeson's crown tbh!!

His disadvantage in that race is name recognition because Liam Neeson was at least a respected actor before his brainless action turn and Gerard Butler was in 300 and terrible in Phantom lmao. Also Dracula 2000.

Greenland was much better than I expected

I watched Greenland twice. After suspending belief that they all somehow found each other after being separated like twice, it was good! It was effectively tense and I was practically holding my breath near the end.

I liked him in Cop Shop. Underrated movie tbh.

The last I heard of him was when he and Jamie Foxx both released a Whitehouse attack movie on the same month. I thought he took a break but apparently not.

He stays booked and busy! His Whitehouse attack movie spawned two sequels but I gotta say I think the Foxx-Tatum one was superior because it was over the top ridiculous and seemed to know it. Anywho, I always thought Gerry was hot back in the day - and he’ll always have a place in my heart due to Dear Frankie and RockNRolla!
