It’s reminded me of the age old criticism of “ black women will stand up for black men, but black men won’t for them”.

As a tangent, I recently noticed that women will go to great lengths to defend a male celeb they think is attractive, but men wouldn't move a minuscule hair of their body to defend a woman they consider attractive.

Men actually take great pleasure in dunking on attractive women in order to diminish them and "put them on their place".

They already shit on women they don't find attractive all the time, so their behavior doesn't change much when a "unnatractive" woman gets cancelled or attacked.

Exactly! When a man likes a celebrity they see her as just an object, someone they'd fuck. Whereas when a woman likes a celebrity they go HARD for them in every sense. (generally)

yeah but I think that happens because these people are already close to begin with. I'm talking more about "fan and celebrity" relationships, where women often tend to be devoted fans and straight men are more in the mindset of "I'd fuck this actress/wouldn't fuck this one" so they see them as objects and would never go as hard for them as, say, Johnny Depp fans go for him.

like Jordin is not a surprise really given her shitty politics but it's like Jaime Lee Curtis post a pic of herself on instagram with Johnny Depp and limiting the comments. She has a history of decent politics and she knew exactly what she was doing, but when those personal relationships exist it's like everything else is out the window for famous people

which is weird? because I feel like a lot of people have disowned people in their lives doing/believing awful things. Like I had a best friend for 18 years and she become an awful bigoted ableist TERF and it was like, NOPE

this is absolutely intended as a diss towards jordin: I still think of her rship to CB as "fan", even if they have a song together. like she's being a "pick me" over him so bad, and he wouldn't even blink if she was getting backlash for anything
