She was 19 and the whole promise ring was a trend, so it’s dumb. But, basically Russell Brand made fun of the Jonas Brothers sporting the rings and when she presented or won an award she burst out with “It's not bad to wear a promise ring, because not everybody - guy or girl - wants to be a slut."
