Smart move Disney. Now can we cancel him completely??

I’m tired of having this debate about why he’s not a good person, that no he did not “just make a mistake”. He’s garbage.
Making me cancel Kelly and not Beyoncé?!?

So basically they have no problem with an woman beater performing on Disney, it's just that they're uncomfortable with a woman beater performing a medley of a child molester's greatest hits. Well, y'know, you gotta draw the line somewhere I suppose.

Btw cuz I don't know the full history of this, has Chris Brown ever shown true remorse/accountability yet? Has he matured at all? From what I remember he basically was acting if he was the victim of the media in the aftermath of the Rihanna incident and then a few years later he like stormed out of some Robin Roberts interview or something on Live Tv and like took off his shirt and Hulked outta there.

No, in fact, a few years ago he released a little documentary claiming that Rihanna started hitting him first and that he didn’t reveal it up until that point to “protect her”. People frequently use this clip to proclaim that they’re ‘both guilty’ and argue in his defense.

It’s also caused his weird defenders to consistently claim Rihanna confirmed in an interview that she initiated the fight/abused him too when that literally never happened.

He’s had at least one other ex who’s been granted a restraining order against him.

That as well as being involved in multiple other violent situations, including assault.

Wow, what a POS. Not surprising though. There's such a difference for me between him and Ray Rice (Rice an NFL player who struck his fiance in an elevator and knocked her unconscious). Both brutal incidents and I get it if ppl are like "fuck them both" but Rice did take full responsibility, apologized and never deferred blame and sought and received counselling to work on his shit. He now talks to college and NFL football players about DV, how he tried to use football as his therapy instead of dealing with underlying issues etc. He also is a one-time violent offender vs Brown who as you and another have pointed out....ya not so much.

Similar incidents but their response stands in such stark contrast to each other. I think the response to these things may reveal more about a person's true character (did you just make a horrible, awful, inexcusable mistake that doesn't represent your true nature or are you an absolute POS and this type of incident is par for the course?).

that's really interesting--i didn't know anything about ray rice's post-assault actions. nothing excuses it, but that is absolutely the best possible outcome from an abuser i suppose. i don't think i've ever seen a celebrity that's abused someone do that kind of restitution so i'm not even sure what to feel.

Why?
