- The moment she was discovered in Hollywood: She had just moved to the US and actor-producer Colleen Camp approached her in a parking lot. “She had an innocence, a sweetness,” Camp remembers of the young De Armas. “I thought she was incandescent. She was very funny naturally, not trying to be funny. And I told her, ‘You know what? You remind me of Marilyn Monroe.’” r u for real
makes me think maybe all the times some random man approached me to ask if I was interested in "a film project" they have were my shot at making it in Hollywood and not, you know, random pervs perving lmao
Hey, I was once approached in Hollywood! For porn, but still. Didn't take the opportunity, but I kept the card along with other souvenirs from the trip.
to be totally fair, she's white, blue eyed and very conventionally attractive so it's not outlandish. I work with casting and I've had to deal with a fair share of producers who bring up people they saw @ the mall or something and obviously, they're always very pretty people (and obviously, most of them are beyond wooden and untalented). It annoys me to no end but this industry truly values looks more than anything else.
she wasn’t. in a previous profile she did while doing blonde promo, she talked about how an robert de niro’s agent saw her in spain when she was filming some movie with him and they convinced her to move to LA to pursue acting in the US
OT, but your icon reminds me of me just now finding out that Jodie Foster's mom was a lesbian, and she named Jodie after her female partner of decades, known to the kids as "Aunt Jo."
