-Thinks she does a good American accent. Judges other British Actor’s for their American accents.

-She thinks more characters should die on Stranger Things.

-thinks co star Finn is a lousy kisser. Doesn’t think he’s improved over the years.

-She no longer thinks the world is flat.

I swear everyone's been predicting child-star doom for this girl since she was a literal child based on nothing other than one Variety article about her dad and her shit red carpet fashion/makeup (sorry Millie, ik you're young and it sucks to be so photographed in an age where teens are not given room to make mistakes)

but from everything I've seen, she's tougher than we think and has a good head on her shoulders, closer to Kirsten Dunst than Lindsay Lohan if we're talking child stars who had to support their families as tweens.

(also Enola Holmes is egg on the face of everyone who says she couldn't act or can only act as Eleven, she killed it there)

Is she still dating Bon Jovi Jr? If so then she’s doing a hell of a lot better than a lot of child stars… she and her boyfriend are the same age!

Millie turning out to be the rare Gen Z teen star with an age-appropriate boyfriend...I don't hate it!

Yes she is! And I feel like he has a normal, famous family that is also healthy for her to be around. I don’t care, I’m rooting for her 😂 I feel like she gets so much shit for no reason

She seems quite well-adjusted to me, and I never saw the original article that had people kvetching about her parents. But it WAS a red flag that apparently her older boyfriend was allowed to move in with her family? (the one who talked about them having sex or whatever publicly)

That pos should have gone to jail tbh. Creep. The timing of it sounds like it was around lockdown, which....I get it was sudden but if it's true that he was allowed to actually move in to their house, her parents really failed her.

At least she didn't have to go through the horror of what an 00s Disney star would have had to do in such a situation (e.g. Vanessa Hudgens being forced to apologise for the theft and leaking of her own private photographs), it's not much but maybe we've made the inch of progress that means girls aren't made to apologise or be shamed for being exploited.

it wasn’t just one article. it was interviews from her dad and reports that she was being sent on the convention circuit on weekend breaks from the Stranger Things set, and then interviews with some of her co-stars who were worried about her too.

Interviews with her co-stars? Links, please. Did they express any specific concerns about her or was regular - and warranted - concern for her/the kids as a child growing up in the public eye being wilfully interpreted as a sign that the costars were saying MBB was going to be, in ontd parlance, a trainwreck ( ... )

it was David Harbour talking about how he worried about her (https://pagesix.com/2021/08/02/david-harbour-has-a-real-worry-about-millie-bobby-brown/amp/) and then one with Charles Dance with The Telegraph or another UK paper from around the time that Godzilla movie came out where he mentioned that her parents were never on set and instead her brother was her chaperone. in it he also wondered aloud about how being treated like an adult on set would effect her. I can’t find a link for that one but that stuck with me all these years.

I’m not saying people were right in taking things to the most extreme conclusion, I’m just saying that worries about her parents behavior weren’t unwarranted and weren’t limited to just one vague article.

The linked interview and David's concern about Millie being treated like an adult on set seem like warranted but still general concerns over child star fame given he was the one who spent the most time with her, which he didn't with the other kids.

The actually iffy part was the one about her parents never being around and delegating chaperone duties to her brother, which was legal given I think he's much older than Millie so properly an adult? but like....what was preventing them being there for their minor child who was literally supporting the family?? But then I've also read comments criticising her dad for accompanying her on photoshoots and wanting outfit approval (to prevent her being put in anything too revealing/uncomfortable) like...pick a side, dude (not you specifically, just the general 'you'). I do think her parents made some questionable decisions and I will judge anyone who turns a child into the family breadwinner, but I'm not here for that being used to shit on her by way of concern trolling.
