Haven't gone to theaters in the last few days because laziness has won out at every chance, but I recently watched:
Stars at Noon: I like Margaret Qualley, but this was a mess. Convoluted + unclear plot, awkward script, and for a film that has been described as "erotic", it was... decidedly not that. I'm sure Joe Alwyn has a lot of appeal in person, and I feel kind of mean saying it, but man, he is a fucking charisma void on screen.
My Policeman: This was better than I expected. The story is exactly what you'd think, so don't expect it to cover any new ground, but it was very watchable. David Dawson was fantastic, Emma Corrin was fine, and Harry Styles is not a good actor, though he was slightly better in this than he was in DWD.
There was an extremely chaste moment in this film that was sexually charged in a way that literally none of the titties out sex scenes in Stars at Noon were, and I appreciated that. I wish more filmmakers would realize that sex is very often not what makes a scene sexy!
