I felt like this during the trial when my 26yo cishet brother listened to me patiently while I ranted and said some pretty smart thing, and a female grad school classmate who was always sharing insta stories about feminism, pro lgbtq+ stuff and general progressive points gave me a heartfelt lecture on how it was a delicate situation and very gray area and something something male victims. I hadn't asked her, she just saw I supported amber on social media. After the trial she started following Depp and liking all his NFT shelling posts, lol. I unfollowed after that :)
It's all fun and games until you're on the receiving end of a fist or any other type of abuse. 🙃
And even then some will still think they're the exception.
