The genuine respect and affection between Chris and Jin is so sweet. This was a great song and performance to say farewell to fans for a little while.

Also listening to Jin's live yesterday and Chris's comments when he introduced the song, it's obvious the plan to enlist was in the works for many months. But Jin just had to keep his mouth shut while media and netizens and the government talked about it (and some people were talking shit about him/the other members) because they wanted their Busan concert to be a happy experience for fans.

And in general it seems like the companies were the ones pushing the government about the possibility of exemption. The original plan was for Jin to enlist after the release of BE, but it seems like Hybe wanted a potential exemption and they wanted to capitalized on the increase in international popularity post-Dynamite. Thus... Butter and Permission to Dance. Idk. Knowing all of this really puts the Festa Dinner in a whole new light.

Anyway, I'm glad Jin got to collaborate on this song with a band he really admires and that he was able to express himself and his feelings through writing it. It's a really good song!

I will miss Jin while he's gone, but I look forward to his full album when he's back! And then ofc the reunion with the other members once everyone has completed their service.

I like Jin and his personality, tho I don't really care for BTS as a whole. I'm glad he's getting to do these things before going in and just the thumbnail makes it look like he was just genuinely happy to be doing this. I imagine he's having fun.

And I volley back and forth on who is the worst... the company or the government when it comes to this. while my firm opinion is that 'almost every other idol (i'm aware some have avoided it due to medical or other issues) has had to enlist, why shouldn't bts?', i think the government should have settled this AGES ago. Settling it would have saved the guys the stress, saved the fans the stress, and maybe ended a few stan wars in the process. I'm waiting on the ire to turn to my fave because he's near 30 and hasn't enlisted yet.

And enlistment goes by so quick. he'll be back in no time. maybe they'll give him a drama to do or some variety shows since most of the group will be in when he gets back.
