I hate that Paris has made this weird comeback. I believe people just don’t know about her racist past, or her giggling over voting for trump

I've been watching white folks I know cheer for Paris and Lilo's comeback and I'm like ... did we forget how terrible these two are.

Everything I've gleaned about this podcast makes me think I'm not the target audience.

Idk. It's not that I think that rich and privileged people do not experience bad things, but idk. The format of two privileged people discussing the way they've been stereotyped is not that interesting to me.

If we're going to made a podcast about the ways people (specifically women) are stereotyped, I'd rather bring on some sociologists or psychologists or experts in the history of these stereotypes to discuss how they formed and how they've been used to hurt people and how we can work to push back against them.

I've never listened to this podcast, I don't care for celebrity podcasts in general, but I think it's meant to be one of the more conversational ones, like Armchair Expert or Marc Maron, than an academic or educational one.

lol yeah I'm sure it is, but I also don't listen to those podcasts either. hahaha. Like I said, I'm not the target audience. It's not the kind of things I find interesting or useful or entertaining.

spotify would have zero interest in even Meghan interviewing sociologists or psychologists. they're not paying big money for insight, they're paying big money for the fact that Meghan can get a lot of celebrities to sit down and talk with her

Surprised you're not getting downvotes. This community is so fickle when it comes to Meghan. She is so clearly a grifter lol and yes a blatant social climber

I know what you mean but it’s been mentioned before. I think more users are starting to realize and accept it lol.

I read Meghan’s “disclaimer” at the end and it was something like, ‘This isn’t a vindication of Paris Hilton, there’s some things I’ve heard she’s done and idk what’s true and isn’t but this is just about her humanity… and seeing her outside of her ~*~archetype~*~’.
And I don’t think the legitimate accusations of her racist behaviour (which I think she is referring to), should be thought of as an archetype? Lol.

Meghan has a lot of gifts in terms of media and public speaking, etc., but also in a way is kind of stuck in 2016 media world where she seeks to centre everything around these kind of pithy but appealing Instagram captions and with topics that are very ‘intro to feminism’… and it seems as though the topic itself is decided upfront rather than being a true exploration, if that makes sense.

But think Meghan’s fan base combined with her haters keep this at the top of the charts so kudos to her.

Oh and another thing that reminds me of that 2016-ish vibe is that she seems to equate successful/rich women with empowered and feminist women.
