Weinstein received a massage in his hotel room in May 2010. During this encounter, the masseuse claims HW (redacted, details at source).
Later (2015?), Gibson was receiving a massage from the same masseuse when MG began talking about a future project in which MG would be partnering with Weinstein productions.
MG masseuse had a traumatic response at the mention of HW name. She told MG the story of being (redacted, details at source) by HW when HW was a previous client.
The masseuse is Jane Doe 3 in the California case against HW
HW defense argued that MG shouldn’t be allowed to testify against HW due to MG previous anti semitic remarks and also (erroneously) The Passion of the Christ - a film made by and starring MG - won Best Picture Oscar.
The judge ruled that MG previous remarks have no relevance to whether JD3 was or was not assaulted by HW and in addition the defense can’t bring up that topic and also the film didn’t win Best Picture.
But, the judge did rule that the defense can bring up whether MG may have a general animus against HW. The prosecution said any animus would be ruled out because MG was in talks to work with HW on a film project.
The defense also argued that the testimony of MG about the complaint by JD3 (… confusingmath.gif …) should be disqualified due to the timing of when the alleged assault happened vs when the masseuse re-told the story to MG.
So, the judge said MG testimony will depend on how JD3 describes the exchange with MG when she takes the stand, and the judge may choose to rule against it at that time.
