...and as expected, they are all raves.

Critics unanimously praise Lea Michele’s performance as Fanny Brice in Broadway’s revival of #FunnyGirl:

“The ‘Glee’ star is stupendous in the role Barbra Streisand made famous, turning the 1964 musical into something better than we know it to be.” - @nytimes pic.twitter.com/L95dr1AW9j

there are a few comparison videos of beanie and lea up and i didn’t realize beanie was SO bad lol? she doesn’t even sound good enough for a high school production, let alone a broadway show. i would’ve been so pissed if i paid $300 to see her lol

i thought beanie sounded bad and the understudy everyone is praising, julie benko, while lovely also sounds pretty mediocre. lea sounds great continuing her best barbra streisand impression.

lmao Beanie sounds like a cartoon.

Maybe I'm projecting but I lol'ed @ how they picked pictures for the screencap where Beanie looks like a naive buffoon while Lea is confidently giving I'm better and I know it energy lol

$300?? damn. beanie does sound very cartoonish, not bad but maybe not what one would expect. the comparison makes it seem like they are playing 2 different characters. i don't think this is on beanie alone but also the director.

They purposely tried to steer away from the Streisand of it all but it's low key impossible with this show because it was molded around her. Her DNA is all over it.

Even taking away the singing, Lea is actually committing to the character, Beanie just sounds awkward and aware of herself. It sucks Lea is so talented because she's so terrible.

it feels like it was cruel to beanie to cast her in this role

I'm half of mind that Ben Platt convinced her to do it (they're bffs and his dad is a producer on this) to distract everyone from how awful the Dear Evan Hansen movie was

hasn't it been all but confirmed that her dad helped fund the show in the first place?

well she wasn't like a child when she accepted the role lol

This kinda makes it funnier that she got the role first. You know Lea must’ve been so pissed that she got passed over for someone who was significantly worse for the role and less talented.
