October 4, 2022 There's been quite a lot of DM news in the past couple of days, but this seems to be the most important update!
The surviving members of Depeche Mode, Martin Gore and Dave Gahan, have announced a new album, “Memento Mori,” will be released next spring. It was Gore who came up with the title when he began writing songs during the pandemic.
Dave said, “I liked that immediately, just because it kinda felt like it was right for the imagery that was already developing in the songs - that life can be so fleeting and just be there and then gone the next minute.”
Unfortunately, Andy Fletcher, who passed away in May, did not get to hear any of the material in the studio. :(
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Martin Gore said of the Fletch's passing: "“It’s obviously really hard to lose your closest friend. Andy was there with me from way before the band and I feel like he was the one in the trenches with me the whole way. So it’s very tough.”
Tickets for the 2023 tour will go on sale on Friday 7th October at 10am (UK time) available from Ticketmaster.
