I will never have a Nobel Prize of course, but my colleague and a professor from my school during grad school were 2 in 1000+ people that were part of the gravitational waves study (using LIGO) that Dr. Kip Thorne won the Nobel Prize for! So even if they call 3 people on stage, this is the work of thousands of people!

Yeah, it's crazy to me how the Nobel hasn't shifted to awarding teams. Like, science just isn't done that way by one ~genius,~ not anymore and not for a long time.

Yeah, that's part of what is frustrating about these things. Lots of people contributed and are so important.

Omg how cool! I love reading about quantum mechanics when I had to do a philosophy paper on it (hated the professor, loved the work lol). I’m just like in awe of physicists, I got to briefly work at Fermilab when dinosaurs roamed the earth lol but meeting some of them were amazing just so nice and very very very fucking smart so I got to hear about their preliminary work on the Higgs Boson.

Let me see if I can find a paper about their work, definitely want to read more

I love Quantum Physics too! I made the switch from Aero Engineering to Physics for grad school and I loved it all. I should have been a Physics major (or Math major) since the beginning.

The whole concept of entangled quantum states is so spooky

lmao my understanding of quantum entanglement is limited to the probably totally fictional way that it is used in the Mass Effect video games.

I read about if it's possible to quantum entangle two people and it would be fanfic heaven haha
