Youtube Nexpo recently uploaded a video about the disturbing art that was created through A.I. On September 6th, a musical artist on Twitter who goes by the username,
supercomposite. This person experiments with AI-driven art that is made possible by inputting text prompts into machine learning systems such as Stable Diffusion, DALL-E, and Midjourney. She decided to test the boundaries of what these systems can do and inputs a specific prompt into Stable Diffusion: prompt = "Brando::-1"
She used the last name of actor Marlon Brando and entered a modifier (-1), also known as a negative prompt weight, which basically means that she wants to create a picture that is conceptually far away from the prompt as possible. This prompt results in an oddly generated abstract skyline with the words: Digita Pntics. Out of curiosity, this user wonders if the inverse of this photo would result in a picture of Marlon Brando. She inputs the resulting words with the same modifier and what it generates is the stuff of nightmares.
This results in the creation of an entity called Loab, an older woman with severe rosacea, prominent cheekbones, and dark brown hair. In one image, she appears in front of a wall with the word Loab above her head. The user eventually uses a process called AI image crossbreeding in order to combine an image of Loab with another image one of her friends created. This results in a grotesque image. They proceed to crossbreed images of Loab in an attempt to erase her, but this only results in even more grotesque images.
Watch it to learn more because I'm too lazy to write a full summary.
TW: Unsettling and flashing images.
