Despite large Modern Family paychecks, Julie Bowen states that she remains frugal with her money

Julie Bowen was allegedly making $500,000 an episode (before taxes, managment fees, etc) towards the end of the long running sitcom, Modern Family, but she claims to still live a frugal life. She alludes to a "California divorce" being extra expensive but won't go into details out of respect to her children and ex husband.
Says when the show wrapped some of her co-workers were talking about buying islands, she would think to herself "hmm, I won't be doing that."
When she was younger (she's been a working actress since the early 90's) she never had a business manager or accountants and would just shove all of her money in her checking account, afraid she would never work again.
She eventaully got a business manager who slowly took control of her financial investments over about six years. Her money is now invested properly.
