Tom Cruise started to pull away from Scientology while filming “Eyes Wide Shut” in London, ignoring David Miscavige’s calls. Marty Rathbun, a top church exec, was sent to UK to audit Cruise, and he “was gradually drawn back into the world of Scientology.”

I was just thinking a while back how literally disgusted I am that they got a charismatic guy like Tom as their poster boy. Like I can see how celebs are "allowed" to leave but they'll never let Tom go. He's too much of a golden boy for them.

I know Tom is terrible for being an advocate for such a nasty group but there's a part of me that can't help but pity him. He's in so deep and so brainwashed, idk.
