Looking forward to this movie.

I thought Margot, Brad, and Tobey were all playing real-life figures? Especially Margot and Tobey?

That was how it was initially reported, but it seems those reports were in error.

I don’t think it was in error, Clara Bow was definitely Margot’s character in the original script. They’ve probably changed her name and a few details so they can avoid accusations of not being an accurate or positive depiction of her or whatever

Or heirs coming after some $$ - because you know someone will claim a right to the likenesses of their relatives from 100 years ago.

Why is everyone white? (Except for the Ana Mae Wong character)

I wish this movie had a different cast.

I was kind of hoping this would come to TIFF, but can't have everything, I guess (and given where I ended up in the package lottery I probably wouldn't have gotten tickets anyway). Chazelle is 3-for-3 with his films, in my view, so I'm very much looking forward to this.

Also, the legacy of Anna May Wong seems to be having a bit of a moment over the past few years.

Yeah, the Academy Museum did a mini-retrospective of her work when it first opened last year.

Do you have tickets for anything you're especially excited about?

The biggest ticket items that I got were Glass Onion (second screening) and the premieres of Empire of Light and The Son. Causeway also really interests me because Jennifer Lawrence hasn't had a really standout role in a few years now.
