they try this every few years, the problem is that the show is so attached to the veteran cast that they don't ever give these residents enough attention or story to invest us in them. i hope it's different this time because the cast is TIRED.

owen and teddy should have been written out two seasons ago. amelia is a mess of a character. jo has literally nothing to do. miranda may as well just join station 19. if richard has yet another health scare where he almost dies I might have a heart attack.

I find it annoying, too, because half the time I grow to like the new residents and they either randomly leave for no reason or die.

Yes! I really liked both of them. And also DeLuca. I really liked him with Meredith, way more than any of the other men she has been with (Derek included, lol) and they broke them up for some ridiculous reason and killed him off. Wtf?

i loved deluca! and i loved him with meredith! i do not like her with this boring new dude nor did i like her with riggs.

i love her new man bc it is scott speedman and i've had a crush on him since 1998. he is my mcdeamy from being a teen!!! he and keri had suuuuuuuch chemistry on felicity

i loved her with deluca until they got them together and he got weird about her being successful. it was so out of character and really put me off him.

they're so boring though! they might as well be on a different show, i don't even feel like he's part of the cast

i just want him on it for him to become a bigger star. i thought they had great chemistry when he was on the one episode. i feel like she is checked out of the show

See I never got the impression he got weird about her being successful. I always thought he just wanted her to be proud of his successes as well and she never was.

I also thought it was strange when she jumped on his ass for wanting to stay with her to support her when Zola had her shunt surgery.

DeLuca deserved so much better. The actor didn't even want to leave the show.

Yeah I loved Meredith and DeLuca together. So much wasted potential when they broke them up. I really warmed to his character, which was one of the few on the show I still liked, so I was pissed when they killed him off.

Brooks! I loved her and Stephanie. Hated Ross and Murphy and I never warmed up to Jo.

I wanted to like Ross because I loved the actor in Friday Night Lights, but he just annoyed me 😭 Murphy was such a pain all the time.

I liked Ross when he was working with Christina but not when he was obsessed with Derek. I thought it was really fitting that he followed Christina to Switzerland.

I was incredibly disappointed last season that Jo didn't get in with Addison on some neo-natal surgery and s combining her OB residency with her general surgery skills somehow, maybe giving her something to think about... she was obviously interested when she first met Addison but then idek the writer's forgot about it and I was waiting and waiting for it to happen when Addison would return but no. I also think that Jo's professional character arc suffers from Carina not being on Grey's (she's on the spin-off, isn't she? I'm not quite clear on that tbh but I always thought that was a mistake ... sorry not sorry).
