#AEWAllOut Media Scrum

September 5, 2022 Honestly, where to start?
This weekend was AEW's All Out PPV in which CM Punk wins the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley. Will be facing MJF (who won the Casino Ladder Match as "The Joker" after like a 3 month hiatus, which was also a mess) at a future date for the belt. You don't care but it adds context.
At the media scrum, Punk sits down and just starting massive shit about his former friend Scott Colton, professionally known as Colt Cabana and unnamed EVPs that were clearly The Young Bucks, and Hangman Adam Page. I'll break down their break down after the cut.
After the scrum, however, a phyiscal fight reportedly broke out between CM Punk, The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Ace Steel (AEW producer and friend of Punk). Reportedly chairs were thrown, and Ace might have bitten and pulled Kenny's hair? Who knows.
Sources: The latest on Punk/Elite situation is The Young Bucks/Kenny Omega stormed into Punk’s locker room confirming PWInsiders report. The Bucks started yelling, Punk yelled back and hit Matt Jackson. Chaos ensued until security and AEW staff finally got The Elite out of there

September 6, 2022 Dave Melzter from Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that
- he's heard a bunch of different sides of the story, one of which claims that Punk was the agrressor and thew the first of multiple punches at Matt Jackson
- Neutral parties believe that Punk was the instigator, not the Bucks.
- Nick Jackson got hit with a chair while Ace Steel bit AND pulled Kenny Omega's hair.
No one has made a comment yet about what happened after the fight. So we'll see what happens.
How did we get to here? I'll explain.
CM Punk and Colt Cabana trained together and traveled and teamed together during their times in the indies. (Indies are independent wrestling promotions, non WWE. Think VFWs, high school gyms, small venues)
CM Punk rose to fame while Colt made a name for himself in the indies but never made it to the top like CM Punk did. Punk claimed in his media scrum that Colt is envious or jealous of him because of that.
Either way, they were still friends until Punk left the WWE under awful circumstances. Punk was a guest on Colt Cabana's podcast in which Punk starts talking massive shit about the WWE, Vince McMahon, and more importantly, a WWE doctor of negligence. Punk said that they misdiagnosed MRSA and forced him to take a z pack and wrestle and literally shit his pants. Literally.
The issue was that the WWE and the doctor who's name I don't recall since this is all on memory, sues Colt and Punk for defamation. Punk eventually won the lawsuit, however Colt Cabana ends up suing Punk since Punk has allegedly agreed to pay Cabana's legal fees but ended up not forking over the cash.
Punk reports that Cabana was being greedy and trying to extort him but they ended up settling the case.
Fast forward idk maybe 7 years and Punk joins AEW, the wreslting promotion that Colt was already in. Reportedly, Colt expressed to AEW that he'd be uncomfortable with Punk working there way before any of this shit blew up. Others reported that Punk asked for Colt to be fired. Colt ends up going to Ring Of Honor instead, which was bought by AEW this year? If not last year.
Which brings in the Bucks, Kenny, and Hangman Adam Page.
Adam Page cuts a promo on Punk earlier this year and says "You talk a big game about worker’s rights, but you’ve shown the exact opposite when you came here." Punk interprets that as a dig against him with all the Colt issues. (Page and Colt are in the same stable at this point)

The Young Bucks are EVPs of AEW and friends of Colt. According to CM Punk, the bucks, kenny, and adam page are the ones leaking information to the press about Punk wanting Colt fired. This angers Punk and leads him to go on a huge tirade on Sunday. Choice quotes include:
- "You can call it jealousy. You can call it envy. Whatever the fuck it is, my relationship with Scott Colton ended long before I paid all of his bills. I have every receipt. I have every invoice. I have every email. I have the email where he says, and I quote … ‘I agree to go our separate ways. I will get my own lawyer and you do not have to pay anymore.’ That’s an email that I have. The only reason the public did not see it is because when I finally had to countersue him through discovery we discovered he shared a bank account with his mother. That’s a fact."
- "What did I ever do in this world to get to deserve an empty-headed, fucking dumb fuck like ‘Hangman’ Adam Page to go out on national television and fucking go into business for himself"
- "There’s people who call themselves EVPs that should have fucking known better. This shit was none of their business. I understand sticking up for your fucking friends. I fucking get it. I stuck up for that guy [Cabana] more than anybody. I paid his bills until I didn’t and it was my decision not to. When somebody [Hangman] who hasn’t done a damn thing in this business jeopardizes the first million-dollar house that this company has ever drawn off of my back and goes on national television and does that, it’s a disgrace to this industry. It’s a disgrace to this company. Now, we’re far beyond apologies. I gave him a fucking chance. It did not get handled and you saw what I had to do, which is very regrettable, lowering myself to his fucking level, but that’s where we’re at right now"
- "Now, it’s 2022. I haven’t been friends with this guy since at least 2014, late 2013, and the fact that I have to sit up here because we have irresponsible people who call themselves EVPs yet they couldn’t fucking manage a Target and they spread lies and bullshit and put into the media that I got somebody fired when I have fuck all to do with him. I want nothing to do with him. I do not care where he works or where he doesn’t work, where he eats, where he sleeps. The fact that I have to get up here and do this in 2022 is fucking embarrassing."
Did I forget anything ONTD?
I can fully see both the bucks and punk being the instigators in all of this. I also can't really comprehend why the Bucks are wanting to go to bat for Colt this badly. I understand that they're friends but like Punk said, this isn't Reseda anymore. This is a mutli million dollar corporation and I mean, I like Colt but he's not worth fumbling the bag. But also CM Punk is toxic as af.
