-Ahead of their new season (5), The Conners has decided to fire Michael Fishman who plays DJ Conner who has been with the series since he was a child.
-Despite being a series regular since S1, he has only been in 36 of the 71 episodes.
-For some reason they have never been interested in treating DJ as an actual character and with his departure will also see the depature of his daughter who may pop up here and there. Update:Per TVLine "The network previously stated that the actress had been downgraded to a recurring guest star. This story has been updated to reflect ABC’s correction."
-They hope to see him return sometime in the future.
